OARWC CONTRIBUTES $2,000 TO LOCAL HIGH SCHOOL CROSS COUNTRY TEAMS
OARWC President Gary Mesplay awarded a $500 check to each local high school for their elementary Cross Country Programs
The award presentation took place at the 40th annual Turkey Day 5 miler held on
Noember 18. Donations from OARWC have in the past supported post season travel and expenses for local cross country athletes to all-star and special event post season events. OARWC presented a similar amount in 2011 to support the county, city, and parochial cross country programs. These programs are highly successful in getting large numbers of kids exposed to distance running and providing quality experiences leading to successful high school programs. OARWC salutes the teachers, coaches, parents, and competitors for another stellar season.
